Impact of marine heatwaves on aquaculture (webinar, Chile)

Marine heatwaves and their impact on aquaculture (Olas de calor marinas y sus impactos en la acuicultura) was the title of the webinar organized by CMHIR Pogo WG and the Salmon Research Institute (Intesal), on 22 August 2024.

Great interest from the industry, academia and public (> 60 people) attracted the webinar on the impact of MHWs on aquaculture. The webinar was introduced by Dr. Felipe Tucca (Intesal) and had the presentations by Dr. Julio Salcedo-Castro (General description of heatwaves amd costal heatwaves), Dr. Patricio Díaz (heatwaves and harmful algal blooms) and Dr.(c) Paola Villanueva (phisiological response of organismos to heat stress). The activity was concluded with a round of questions and answers and concluding words from the organizers.
